The GRITS committee is a sub-committee of the SETCIC Users' Group established to create standards and procedures for collection and sharing of gang information supported by the JIMS GRITS application software. The committee coordinates activities among member agencies and submits system modification and enhancement requests to JIMS via the SETCIC group and member agencies.

There are two (2) levels of agency participation in GRITS: Full-service agencies are entitled to place their gang related information on the centralized database for display to other user agencies who make inquiries. GRITS policies require certain validation for data and criteria defining gang members and activities.

Inquiry-only agencies may query authorized databases and are governed by GRITS policies regarding use of the information.
